The ClayTech meeting is organized every year by ICTa (International Clay Technology Association), who was founded in 2006 from a merger between the Institute of Clay Technology and The Institute of Minerals & Mining, and its purposes is to promote heavy clay technology on an international basis and help members broaden their professional outlook.
ClayTech UK 2017 moved to a new location at the Newark Showground and included a larger seminar room and exhibition area with additional space available to exhibit machinery and equipment.
The technical program at ClayTech UK 2017 put the focus on the short and long term opportunities and challenges facing the heavy clay industry. Topics covered included raw materials, preparation, energy efficiency, prefabrication and legislation.
Talleres Felipe Verdés S.A. participated one more year with a booth, where the entire portfolio of machines and equipment for the preparation and moulding of clays was shown. The company has reference facilities spread across the British geography, and this event was the occasion to meet with some of these customers.
In the different meetings with clients and visitors, it was revealed that the British market of heavy clay is at a good pace, with an increase in demand experienced during the last year. In the chapter on investment and renovation of facilities, still most industrial groups and ceramic companies remain in the expectation of the evolution of demand and the macro political situation.
Along with the staff of the sales department, the director of the company Eldercourt Ltd, who represents Verdés in the United Kingdom, was also present. Through this company, an after-sales service is also offered, providing original spare parts with tight deadlines.
